The entry level GoDiagram product is now $199!
GoDiagram Express is simpler,
smaller and less expensive than GoDiagram Win. Nevertheless, we have
tried to put the most commonly used features of GoDiagram Win into the
Express version.
Although both products share much of the same design, GoDiagram Express
is noticeably simpler than GoDiagram Win. You may want to use GoDiagram
Express if you just need to build diagrams containing GoBasicNodes, GoIconicNodes,
or GoTextNodes, such as the
following screenshots demonstrate:
Features included
- the customization of GoLinks and of the parts of the node classes,
for getting both the appearances and the behavior you want for your
application. You can define your own classes inheriting from one
of the link or node or shape classes, or from GoDocument or GoView,
to override the specialized behavior not already controllable by
properties.
- the document-view-controller architecture, for additional options
in displaying and editing diagrams, including the use of GoOverview
and GoPalette, and the ability to organize objects into layers that
can be seen (or not) in different orders by different views
- the use of tools, for greater flexibility in defining the interactive
behavior you need to make your users productive
- the notion of ports as connection objects inside nodes, connected
by links, both abstractly (IGoNode, IGoPort, IGoLink) and concretely
(GoBasicNode, GoIconicNode, GoTextNode, GoPort, GoLink, GoLabeledLink)
- the programmer-extensible undo/redo architecture, so that you
can easily keep your application-specific state in synch with the
user's undo and redo actions
- Support for all .NET langauges, including C# and Visual Basic.NET.
Differences between Express and the full-featured
GoDiagram Win product
The following list of items are not included in Express:
- No Support for Web Forms (ASP.NET) or PocketPC (.NET Compact
Framework)
- additional kinds of predefined
nodes
(such as GoGeneralNode,
GoMultiTextNode, and GoSubGraph)
- ability to define your own kinds of nodes, other than subclassing
existing ones
- ability to embed Controls in
your GoDocument
- "No-touch" or "ClickOnce" deployment
- use of the AvoidsNodes property on GoLink and RoutingTime
on GoDocument
- GoLayout (optional automatic layout)
- GoInstruments (optional knobs, dials and meters)
If you need any of these things, then you will need the full GoDiagram
Win product.
100% upward compatibility
If at any time you outgrow the capabilities of Express, you can purchase
an upgrade to GoDiagram Win and simply recompile your application.
No other diagram component gives you this combination of a cost effective
control with the head room to grow and meet your next version requirements.
